Curtis Cup - 2008
Friday May 30th to Sunday June 1st
We want to wish our best to both the USA and the Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup teams.
The match, played every other year, will be held this year, for the first time ever, over the Old Course, St Andrews, the home of golf.
Mary Mc Kenna has selected a super GB & I team who we would love to see winning because the U.S have won the last five competitions. The U.S captained by Carol Semple Thompson, also have a splendid team, including Alison Walshe who was born in Galway and we will have no choice but to follow her every swing. The Curtis sisters wanted "to stimulate friendly rivalry among the women golfers of many lands" and the Curtis cup, the foremost Ladies amateur matchplay tournament certainly achieves their goal.
